Back in 1701, Lord Asano Naganori from the Ako Domain in Hyogo got caught in a nasty trick set by the arrogant official Kira Yoshinaka, who used Asanos bold personality against him. Two years down the line, Oishi Kuranosuke teamed up with his son Matsu No Jou and a group of loyal samurai to take down Kira and fix things for Lord Asano.
