About the Game

Play 2048 on a simple 4x4 grid where numbered tiles slide when you press the four arrow keys. Each turn, a new tile with a value of 2 or 4 pops up in an empty spot. Tiles glide as far as they can until they hit another tile or the board edge. When two matching tiles crash into each other while moving, they merge into one tile showing their combined total. That new tile cannot merge again during the same move. Tiles with higher scores glow softly, and the biggest possible tile is 131,072. If three identical tiles slide together in a row, only the two furthest ahead in your direction will combine. When a whole row or column is filled with matching values, a move along that line merges the first pair and the last pair. A scoreboard in the top-right corner tracks your points. Your score starts at zero and goes up by the value of each new tile you create. You win when a 2048 tile appears on the board, which is how the game got its name. After finding that special tile, keep playing to chase even higher scores. The game ends when you have no legal moves left, meaning there are no empty spaces and no matching tiles next to each other.

Instructions

Use your arrow keys to slide the tiles. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one.
